IMPORTANT QUESTIONS TO ASK DEVELOPERS AND COUNTY BOARDS FREQUENTLY
Q: What about birds being killed by
these disabled energy projects that soar into the sky 820 feet with
broad sweeping blades?
A: They do kill birds, and bats, and insects which is food for birds
and bats and insects also consume bacteria and parasites and
decaying materials and are a good part of the ecosystem. We need to
put grates over these blades like is done with table fans as is done
for safety.
Q: Has the developer considered this
kill and has the developer addressed this?
A: As we can see in the meeting on 8/18/22 the spokes person for
West Camp Wind which is the same as for Chevelon Butte wind Mr.
Unrein states this
This is a standard sales pitch response that does not address the concerns of these unnatural objects that have massive blades that spin in circles kill even very large birds including eagles. It's also a bad comparison as cats eat birds as they do in nature as do many things in nature, that doesn't mean that since cats kill birds that massive wind turbines should be allowed to at all. These projects are not energy efficient and net losses. To build net loss projects that then also harm and destroy environments especially the beauty and also kill wildlife is not appropriate. Tall buildings do not kill eagles as they are not in the cities. They have limited kill rates of popular and plentiful birds, and if you look at a comparison as to how many square feet of building there is in a city to how many birds are killed and look at that ratio of the kill rate of wind blade total area in a project and that kill rate it's surely a goos 1000x difference where the city is more friendly to birds than a wind project. These eagles are protected species and should not be allowed to be killed by disabled energy systems that are net losses to the public but big gainers to portfolios. These projects are not necessary. So this kind of comparison the developer makes is bogus.
